Job Description: Early Childhood Center Kitchen Manager

Reports to: Facility Director

Broad Function: Works under the direct supervision of facility Director and does not assume responsibility for a group of children. Is responsible for delivery preparation and delivery of food to eating areas and cleanup; maintenance of common areas and kitchen on a daily basis as required.

Authority and Accountability: Is delegated full authority necessary for the effective performance of all assigned responsibilities subject to the restrictions and requirements and terms of Cee Cee’z Imagination Station Preschool & Child Care Center, LLC policies and instructions; applicable local, state and federal laws, and what dictates business judgement, prudence, and ethical conduct. Is fully accountable to the Director for performance measured against the Performance Standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Must have High School degree or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
2. Must present a current physical (within 6 months) and TB test (Mantoux 3 step version).
3. Must obtain Food Service & Sanitation Certificate at their own expense with reimbursement of all expenses incurred after 3 months of employment without disciplinary action on the employees file.
4. Candidate must; have good health and be agile enough to work with small children
5. Must be able to relate well to children, staff, parents and volunteers.
6. Must have the ability to read, write and keep records.
7. Experience working in a kitchen.
8. Good personality.
9. Presents a neat and clean appearance.

Essential Functions

1. Prepares meals.
2. Delivers meals to classrooms and helps cleanup.
3. Stores food before and after serving.
4. Every day will be responsible for washing and sterilizing dishes, pots and utensils.
5. Washes countertops and sinks daily.
6. Cleans refrigerator, freezer and cupboards as necessary.
7. Cleans common areas: restroom, laundry room and multi-purpose room daily.
8. Collects and completes laundry as needed daily, distributing clean laundry as necessary.
9. Sweeps and mops kitchen area; cleans and washes oven and refrigerator, takes out trash from kitchen area.
10. Is responsible for making sure children with food allergies receive appropriate food, milk, etc.
11. Follows monthly rotating meal menus as written. Reports any deviations to the Director.
12. Takes inventory of pantry contents/places food distributor orders as necessary.
13. Creates appropriate shopping lists and performs shopping as necessary.
14. During meals, eats with children; giving priority to the classroom that may be short staffed and needing assistance.
15. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director.
16. Coordinate with Lead Teachers in creating a schedule to assist classrooms with cooking experiences as necessary.

Working Conditions
